Rained Out

We ended up not going to Mt. St. Helens yesterday. It was rainy and all we would have seen was a big cloud instead of a mountain. It's too bad but we still had fun.

Most of the group played Crash Team Racing all day. I put together and cataloged some of my new stamp sets that have just been lying around for the last couple of months. Then I joined Debi and Mom on Debi's laptop to play computer games (mostly word games and a little trivia). We were all hungry and so we started dinner, Debi's birthday dinner: Enchiladas, Spanish Rice, and Corn. :lick:

I had made a cake, but we decided to wait until Ryan came home from work to eat it. To pass the time we "played" Taboo. I say played, but really Debi just went through about half the cards giving the rest of us clues until someone got it. It was goofy at times, but fun.

Ryan came home a little early for the cake and presents. I wish I had the camcorder going when he lit the candles with his blow torch...really, he did! The cake was yummy and Debi enjoyed her gifts. She got some retired stamps from Mom and I, a bracelet from Miriam, a little jewelry box decorated with sea shells that Acadia picked out herself and paid for with her own money (okay, so it was at a yard sale, but still!), and in honor of her 21st birthday, Ryan and I gave her a shot glass! It's really pretty with a light house so it matches her bedroom and can be used as a candle holder if she wants.

By then it was time for Acadia to go to bed. After that, the group sort of broke apart. Mom and Ben had Reading Club, Andrew went to bed, Joe was on the computer, and the rest of us played Phase 10. I got lucky and had an early lead, but didn't hold out much hope since as I've mentioned before, it is against nature for me to win that game! But somehow I managed to slip under the radar (no doubt everyone expected me to drop like a rock since I always do) and slowly advanced while everyone thought I was at the end of the pack! I didn't say anything, just let them believe what they wanted:naughty:. Once they realized I was ahead it got to be much more difficult! David passed me and I was sure that once again I would end up behind, but thanks to two great hands I pulled it off and WON!!!!

No one even cheated for me to win! It was the first time I've won that game without cheating in...I don't know...probably years!!! The last time I won, was very close. Debi only cheated a little, teeny, tiny bit to help me. But this time it was all on my own!!! I was shocked!!! Still am!!!

Today Miriam leaves on a jet plane...:tunes:. And Dad will show up sometime this evening. We might possibly go to the Gorge before Miriam leaves since she doesn't have to get there real early and the weather is nicer today. We'll see.
