My appliances have arrived!!! They were delivered this afternoon. They were supposed to be delivered on Monday but the delivery company didn't receive them until that day... whatever. The important thing is that I have them now! :D
Of course, they are not installed yet. We're still waiting on the gas lines to be brought up to the house. But they are in my possession. We will probably hook up the dishwasher soon, it doesn't need the gas. :)
It's like Christmas a month early! lol

4 months old
Aurora's 4 month Dr. appointment will be later this week and I'm anxious to see her new stats. :) But I did take her pics with the bear today :)... Here they are:
Fall Freeze
This morning we woke up to more snow! Still not a lot, but with the icy roads they delayed school by two hours this morning. Cadi spent much of those two hours playing outside. :) She was hoping that it would still be too icy to have school after the two hours were up... no such luck. lol
However, the word is that the next couple of days will also be icy, at least in the mornings. Tomorrow is supposed to be a half day. If it's another 2 hour delay, they will likely call a snow day because it won't be worth busing kids in for just an hour of school. :S
Currently, the sun is shining brightly. :) I want to go out to do errands, but Ryan is running his - WITH MY CAR. The big baby. lol So, I wait for my turn. In the meantime, enjoy these snow pics we took yesterday. :)

Well what do you know?
We did end up with a little snow! Just a little but I'm hoping it's enough that there will still be some when Cadi gets home from school so she can play in it. :)
Rori's first snow. :) I took some pictures and will post them later. Hopefully I'll get some pics with Cadi playing in it too. :)
It's funny because I was out earlier today and only wore a sweatshirt because I was too hot with my coat on. I kept thinking, it must not be as cold as they say it's supposed to be because I'm not cold at all! But I guess it is! I guess I still have a few layers of insulation that I need to lose, lol.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I love the holiday season! We decorated the inside of our house this weekend and soon we'll be putting lights up outside. This will be the first year we actually get lights up outside since we've moved here. lol
This week is our stake's annual Festival of the Nativities. I'm taking 7 of mine over this morning to submit. I'll get them back Saturday night when the Festival is over. :)
It's a bit chilly here right now! We finally had some cold temps hit our area last night and some of the surrounding areas got a little snow! It isn't supposed to stick for long but hey, it's snow! We didn't get any though, that's no surprise. We typically don't get much. I'm hoping though, that this year we'll get a White Christmas. It's rare here, but can happen. Since we have Ryan's family coming in, it would be a nice "extra" touch, lol.
Well, it's cruel to post about it looking like Christmas here without posting pics, but you'll just have to call me Scrooge today. I've got a ton of stuff to do and since half of my nativities have just been repacked to take to the Festival, there are too many "empty" spots right now. But I'll take some pics when I get my nativities back... at the end of the week. Deal? Good. :)

Sniffles x 4
Every one of us is sick. Ryan and Rori are on the tail end of their colds but Cadi and I are just starting ours. :(
The good news: I am not pregnant so I can take drugs!!! I've loaded myself up on EmergenC too. It's helping. :) Still, my nose is starting to get raw from blowing it so much. :(
Last night be started decorating for Christmas. We put up our new Christmas tree. I got a new one because our other one is so big! It was very wide - 56"! We will be having 13 people total in this house this year for Christmas... and 56" was just too big. I wanted a new one anyway, so I saw this as the perfect excuse not to wait another year! lol
It is 7' tall and only 42" wide. :) It's also prelit and folds up... saves so much time! I'm considering being ambitious and adding more lights myself, just fastening them to the branches so they stay in place... but not this year. I let Cadi start put decorations on already so it's too late to add more lights. But next year? Maybe? We'll see.
Now to finish decorating. Maybe I'll take some pics when I'm done and post them - and the others I've been taking the last couple of weeks. :)

Touchdown!
Happy Thanksgiving!
This morning, Ryan was able to leave work and go play football with some guys from church. He had a fun time, caught a touchdown with a nice diving catch, and then had a major collision with someone that put an end to his fun. He hobbled home with a major headache, muddy and sore. He was in some serious pain. He took a bunch of drugs and laid down for awhile. Later, when it was time to eat, he seemed to be feeling better. :) But still sore. :( At least he had fun!
I cooked us up a Thanksgiving feast single-handedly. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pull it off - I've never done a whole Thanksgiving by myself before. But as we sat down to eat, everything looked perfect and as we started eating, it all tasted great too! Whew! Now I know I can do it. :)
As Ryan was heading back to work, Cadi and I put Rori in her exer-saucer (sp?) for the first time. She seems to really like it! I took some pics but they aren't uploaded yet.
So, all in all today was great. (Minus for Ryan killing himself trying to play ball with the guys. He keeps forgetting that he's not in high school anymore. lol) We enjoyed our time together as a family, ate just the right amount where we were full but not painfully full, have enough leftovers to last all weekend long, and as soon as the dishes are done, Cadi and I just might start decorating for Christmas. :)

The Giving of Thanks
Tomorrow is Turkey Day and I'm ready! Bring on the food!
But before we do...
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that tends to be mis-celebrated. When you think of Thanksgiving, your first thought is FOOD! Followed by gathering with family, football, and parades. It's only when we really stop to think about it that we remember, "Oh yeah, I'm thankful...". I suppose it really isn't so bad. I mean, we are thankful for food, family, friends, and yes football and parades. So, as we celebrate by stuffing ourselves silly and spending time with the people we love, let's also remember that it is a day to give thanks - for all of our many blessings. :)
Tomorrow our Thanksgiving will be small and quiet. Ryan could not get the time off of work so he will go in like normal. I didn't call any of my relatives to see if we could crash their dinners. Instead, I bought a small turkey and all the fixings to make our own Thanksgiving feast here. Ryan will hopefully be able to come home after checking in at work. *Keeping fingers crossed that it will be an uneventful day at work so he can do this.* He's planning on playing football with some of the guys from church and then we're planning an early dinner. Then he heads back to work so his co-worker can go home for the rest of the day to be with his family.
I can't help but think back to last Thanksgiving.
We were in Sacramento and I felt so tired and yucky. I thought I knew why but I was wrong. lol We ran the 10K for Run to Feed the Hungry and I just couldn't understand why I stuggled so much that last mile. lol Later we had dinner with my family and I was disappointed that I didn't feel well enough to really eat a lot. lol ... I had no clue.
About a week later, I found out that I was pregnant! No wonder I was felt so tired and crummy! No wonder I struggled at the end of that 10K! No wonder I couldn't eat all the pie I thought I had earned by running!
We were hesitant to be excited... we had been through the heartache of miscarriage before and I was getting all sorts of bad signals from my body. But somehow when we went in for an ultrasound, there was a heartbeat! It's hard to imagine that one year ago, I had no clue that Aurora was about to come into our lives. But here she is! So healthy, so beautiful, so happy!
And then of course there is our first precious little girl. Acadia has grown so much in the last year. She is so helpful, so considerate, so loving. She is an excellent big sister. She has taken that role gladly and hasn't complained or acted out in any way. I get glimpses of a young woman as she lovingly holds her little sister or reads her a story. I just wish she wouldn't grow up quite so fast.
I've been so blessed. I have an amazing husband who loves me and treats me far better than I deserve. He is my best friend and I am so grateful that our relationship is so strong. I know that with him by my side, I can get through anything.
I'm so very grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be with my family forever. I'm grateful for the comfort and joy that it brings to my life! I am grateful for the scriptures and that I can read them daily. When I read, my days go so much better. They truly are a blessing in my life.

An Update on my Update
So... I spent an hour on the phone with Home Depot this morning. We had decided to go with the upgraded stove... partly because it would mean all of our stuff would get here next week but mostly because the upgraded stove has a confectioner's oven and a conventional oven (the smaller oven is conventional) instead of two conventional ovens. When I talked with the costumer service rep, they told me that the dryer we had selected was discontinued and they were out of their stock. They had comparable models but they were more expensive and we didn't like the style so much. I ended up getting the washer and dryer in platinum instead of white so I could get the models I wanted. Because of the hassle, the gal I was working with gave me additional discounts on everything! Woohoo!!!
Now we get our washer, dryer, dishwasher and range on Monday!!! The dryer and range can't be hooked up until the gas is in... that should be within a couple of weeks. The gas company made a visit to our home today to mark where the gas line will go. :)
I can't believe we're finally getting the gas lines and gonna have heat/air and all new appliances in just a couple of weeks!!! :D

New Appliances Update
I'm still so excited about my new appliances! Especially since Ryan decided to upgrade the washer!!! Now all of the appliances we are getting will be the quietest models they make. :)
Unfortunately, I did get some bad news today about our order. The stove that I am SO IN LOVE WITH is backordered. It will be available on Dec. 24 and delivered Dec 26. All the appliances ship together, so that means they will all be coming then. :S Except for the microwave... that I had to order through the store, not on-line... so I'll have that in a couple of weeks. :)
I guess it's good and bad. It's bad because I won't have it all installed BEFORE our company gets here. It's bad because I won't have them to use for Christmas cooking/dishes. It's bad because the day after Christmas will be "have appliances delivered and installed" day instead of "whatever we were going to do instead of that" day. But it's good because it will be like a BIG extra Christmas present for me. And it's also good because we'll have lots of guys here to help install everything quickly. lol
Infact, I think I'll take all the "women folk" with me to hit the "day after" Christmas sales while the guys stay here and install appliances. ... You know, this situation isn't really all that bad afterall. lol

The ball is rolling!
The gas company is going to be coming to bring a gas line to our house in a couple of weeks. We've hired someone to put in central heat and air and that will happen as soon as the gas line is put in. They'll also be installing a new gas water heater for us and piping gas to the dryer and range.
Today we made some big purchases. We ordered all new appliances for our home! (Except for the fridge and outside freezer which were purchased new when we bought our house.) I am very excited, I really like what we got. I think I may actually keep up with the laundry and dishes and cooking - just so I can use my new "toys". lol
So... we went Maytag, all the way. Here's what we got (scroll your mouse over the image to see a description)...
And I'll also be getting two of these to put under the washer and dryer...
I'm really excited because I was able to find all the stuff I want - and on sale too! Except the pedastools... those aren't on sale yet... maybe they will be by the time I get them? Even if they aren't, I'm stoked about the good deals we got!

I'm mad at myself!
UGH!!! We have had company and we didn't take any pictures! What was I thinking? Well... apparently, I WASN'T!!!
On Sunday, Jessica and the kids came over to visit for the day. The girls had a lot of fun just running around and playing. William, Jess, Ryan and I had fun playing LOTR Risk... your's truly spanked them! lol But it was fun... even if we were all up way too late!
They stayed the night and then had to leave early the next day. We were sad the visit was brief but we didn't mind too much because we know they will be back next month for Christmas! I am so very excited for Acadia to be able to spend Christmas with her cousins! This will be a fun year with memories to keep forever. :)
My friend, Dara was back in town this past week too. :) We watched her boys while she and her hubby went to dinner with his family. He was getting sent down to Arizona for training with the Army so this was his last dinner out for awhile. On Tuesday, Dara and I went to the temple together. That was a sweet experience and I'm so glad we went! That night she made us Thai food. It was yummy... except for the dish that tasted like FISH! lol After Dara had to take her hubby back that night, she and the boys stayed with us. She stayed up with me and helped me create a super cool MySpace page. Oh yeah... CHECK IT OUT! And make sure your sound is on. :) (If it has problems loading, then try again later. Sometimes MySpace has "issues".)
So... I had these cool visits with family and friends and no pics to show for it. Sorry. I let the ball drop on that one. But I have been taking a few pics of Rori. I'll upload them soon. :)

Thanks, but no thanks.
We are bummed.
Ryan's work did not approve the time off we requested for Thanksgiving. This means that we will not be going to California to spend the holiday with our family. It also means we will not be participating in the Run to Feed the Hungry this year. It means that I will have to mail my Christmas gifts instead of just handing them out while down visiting. And it means that our family in California will not see Rori until she is MUCH bigger.
That is what makes me the most sad. She has grown so much already and she's such a fun and happy baby... I want our family members to get to see her and experience her. But it looks like they will have to wait a little longer. How much longer? I don't know. I guess we'll just have to see just how long Winter lasts this year.
Another thing I'm bummed about... Rori's sick. She's been sick for awhile, with a cold. It is her first illness. It seemed to be getting better but she's back to feeling pretty miserable. She's mostly having a hard time when she's hungry or tired. Otherwise, she tries to be a happy girl. It's just when she wants to eat or use her pacifier that she has problems. Since she's so stuffed up, it makes it hard for her to breath. And generally, breathing is a good thing. ;)
We are thankful for the humidifier and snot sucker. They have helped to "get by". Hopefully this cold will leave soon. As one of my friends said, "At least she won't get this strain again." ... Yep, one down... thousands to go.

What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas
Haha, I'm kidding! You KNOW I'm gonna tell you all about it!
But before I do, I must express sincere frustration at the fact that I had just spent an hour or more writing this post complete with lots of pics and BAM, power went out and I lost it all! GRRRR!!! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately - you decide, lol), that means you are gonna get a condensed version.
Vegas was a blast!!! It was so much fun hanging out with my VFriends!!! I'll post what we did and some pics too. Scroll over the pics to read more details. Also, you should know that I call some of these girls by their nicknames instead of their "real" names.
Rori and I flew into Vegas Friday around noon. There we met up with Stacey,Melissa (Lissagerl), Janna, and eventually AnnaMarie. Ann and Heather (Twins) live in Vegas and came to pick us up. The girls waited with Rori while I collected my bag from the luggage carousel. When I got back, they told me that a security person told them they had to move because you had to be 21 or older to stand near the slot machines. They told her that they were all over 21 and the lady said, "The baby!" Uh... okay... So, I guess there is a growing concern for gambling addictions in 3 month olds. lol
While we waited for AnnaMarie's flight to arrive, we took some pics.
We met up with the girls who drove in to Vegas: Morgan, Renae, Erin, and Loots and went to lunch. I forgot to take pics during lunch! Grrrr. We had a good time visiting and after lunch was over we headed to the house we were renting. There had been some false advertising with the house but after some discussion, we decided it was still a good deal and we were gonna have fun regardless.
Heather (Triscuit) joined us at the house (she also lives in Vegas). Some girls made a quick run to the store for groceries. And then several of them made up yummy chicken salad sandwiches for us to eat at TOFW.
Once lunch was taken care of, we got ready to head out.
We grabbed a bite at In-N-Out Burgers and had a blast just talking and laughing. I laughed so hard I cried and I told the girls that this alone made the trip worth it for me. lol Couldn't tell you the story behind that one though, it's a VFriend exclusive. ;)
Next we headed to the Bellagio Hotel. Erin took these pics in the elevator. They are a little blurry but I think they're still great so I'm posting them anyway.
The conservatory and chocolate fountain were cool but I'm not posting pics on that because remember, you're getting the condensed version. lol Poor Triscuit had a "fountain" of her own when she got a nose bleed and had to hide out in the restrooms until she got it taken care of. Once she joined up with us again, we went outside to see the water fountain show.
The next morning, we went to Time Out for Women. It was very good and we all enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, AnnaMarie (who is 32 weeks pregnant) was really sick and needed to go back home. Twins took her. Later during the TOFW, a woman in the audience somewhat close to where we were sitting began having seizures. There were nurses in the audience who helped her until the paramedics arrived. While we all waited, Michael McLean (who was hosting) sat at the piano and played some "background" music for us. He even taught us a song... I think I've forgotten it already though, lol.
We had joined up with Sarah and Chrissi (also their mom and some friends) at TOFW. During the breaks, we got to visit a bit. During lunch, we headed outside to eat our super yummy chicken salad sandwiches. :)
One of the things that was awesome about TOFW was that so much of it was about sisterhood and friendships. They talked about how women need women and how we can strengthen one another and enrich each other's lives. We all wanted to just raise our hands and say "That's us! You're talking about VFriends!!!" It is hard to explain to other people just exactly what "VFriends" are. Most of us didn't know each other before we met on-line but within a few months we have become very good friends. We share so much with one another, good times and bad. So far I don't think there has been anything brought up in VFriends that there hasn't been at least one person who could relate to it. We have all benefited from our friendship in many ways. Some of us were talking about how much our friendships mean to us and we all feel that VFriends wasn't an accident. It was not an accident that we all met up this way. I know MySpace has a bit of a bad reputation, but I have to say that I am so grateful for it. I would never have met these wonderful ladies if it weren't for MySpace. I love my Vfriends!!!
After TOFW we went back to the house to change. AnnaMarie was still sick so she and Erin stayed home while the rest of us went out to eat. We ate at the buffet at the Luxor Hotel.
After dinner, we headed to the M&M Factory. Just as we got there, we got a call from Erin that AnnaMarie needed to go to the hospital. Triscuit rushed home to take her and on the way called some family members to go give her a blessing. We made our visit at the M&M Factory brief and headed back to the house. We were all worried about AnnaMarie and her baby. Fortunately, the baby was just fine and after a few hours of receiving IVs, AnnaMarie was much better too. She was able to go home early in the morning. Thankfully, her flight was for today, so she had a whole extra day to rest before jumping back on a plane.
But the rest of us had to head back home on Sunday. :(
Vegas was fun but the best parts were just hanging out with my friends. I felt so comfortable with them! When we were visiting with Sarah and Chrissi's mom, she asked us if there were any surprises... not really. We already knew each other. This trip has made me want to meet the rest of the Vfriends even more! We're already planning a visit in Utah next April and this time it will be one day longer because quite frankly, 2 days just wasn't enough!
I have more pics and you can see them all here. They aren't all labeled yet, still working on that. And I'm slowly adding some that I'm "stealing" from some of the other girls who were there. :)
But before I do, I must express sincere frustration at the fact that I had just spent an hour or more writing this post complete with lots of pics and BAM, power went out and I lost it all! GRRRR!!! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately - you decide, lol), that means you are gonna get a condensed version.

Vegas Baby!
I can't believe it's already here! I've been looking forward to this trip for several months and now in one hour I will be leaving for a weekend in Vegas with a bunch of girlfriends! I'm super excited to have a "girls getaway" - it will be my very first! And I'm very excited to meet my friends who I have been getting to know over the last several months but most of whom I've never really met yet! I'm also very excited to be going to Time Out for Women tomorrow! Not to mention, I've never been to Vegas and I'm excited to see what all the hype is about! lol
So many crazy fun things for this weekend!!!
Rori is coming with me (so it's not a complete weekend "off", but that's okay) and I was a little worried for a bit because she had a fever the last two days. But this morning she woke up happy and healthy with no fever! YAY!!!
I will miss my hubby and Cadi but it will just be a couple of days. I think we will all survive. ;)
