I went shopping today...

I bought some cute things for the 70's theme ward activity we are having next week.  I got a cute brown plaid skirt, some platform shoes (cute ones), bell bottom jeans (HUGE bell bottoms), sunglasses, and even a 70's looking purse to match the shoes.  I haven't gotten a shirt yet, that will have to be the next thrift store run.

I got a skirt and jeans because I couldn't decide (heehee).  Partly it depends on what shirt I find.  Also, I thought that I could use the skirt next week, but use the bell bottoms for a halloween outfit sometime (they'd be warmer).  We'll see.  When I decide I can return them if I don't want them.

The party will be fun though!  My young women are working on "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" for a lipsinc.  I'm supposed to be a librarian "shush"ing them at the end.

I also got me a cute mom t-shirt. It is white and has a bunch of names for "mom" in black with a few sparkly red hearts. And I picked up some clothes and a pair of sandals for Cadi.

Oh, and Ryan and I also bought a minivan today. lol  It's a 2000 Honda Odyssey, fully loaded and in Philidelphia. Ryan is booking a flight out after church Sunday then he'll drive it home. Crazy, huh? But check it out...

I think we'll get a portable DVD player that hangs over the headrest of the seat in front of you so Acadia will be able to watch movies while we travel.

Can you believe it??? I own a minivan!!! lol

Is it summer already?

It is getting warm here! Today we were supposed to reach 90 (but I'm not sure if we did or not, didn't have time to watch the news). The weather has been gorgeous, but the warmth is making me feel LAZY!

Today Acadia and I went to see Racing Stripes then raced ourselves over to her school to participate in her music program. She did great! The whole thing was very cute. Ryan couldn't come home from work early, so I taped it. I didn't tape the first graders however, though they were darling as well.

I have plenty to do and even a little time to work on some of it, yet I'm exhausted and just want to ignore it all. But that won't do. At the very least I should do another load of laundry and pick up the family room... I'm telling you - fun stuff.

I've been spelling it wrong!

It's moulding, not molding. *blush*

We bought the base moulding today. Plus lots of yard stuff. Weed killer, moss killer, mole repellant, grass seed, etc. Ryan needs to head over to Lowes for the Crown moulding tonight. So guess what I'm gonna be doing tonight? You got it... painting the moulding! But I'm okay with that.

Oh, and I also bought myself a new orchid for my master bathroom. I'm going to try real hard not to kill this one! At least this time I know how to care for it so this one will have half a chance.

My head is starting to hurt. *ugh* Paint fumes won't help. Hmm... oh well. I really want to get them painted tonight, I guess I'll suffer.

Update on the car... and other stuff.

So to make a long story short... We're going to replace the ball bearing (the part that broke) and have an alignment done. There is more that could and should be done, but the total was going to be more than the car is worth! I should have my car again tomorrow, it will run. We are now looking into getting a new car and selling this one. It is 10 years old and we want something that we can depend on without having to start dumping money into it.

While I would like a new car, I haven't figured out how we're going to pay for it yet. Hmmm... we're gonna have to work on that.

The good news is that I was able to work out (really work out) without fainting today!!! This is the first time I have been able to actually exercise without feeling like I had gone to far and almost fainting since the miscarriage. So, yeah that is good. Real good.

This week we are doing the molding! Ryan's friend is going to be here (probably on Wednesday) so we need to go get the molding either tonight or tomorrow and I need to paint the pieces. Hooray! I am so excited - everything will look even nicer with the molding on! I'm hoping this includes the crown molding in my bedroom!!!

Dance Like Nobody's Watching

Yesterday Acadia participated in her last dance recital with Veba's School of Dance. Next year she will have to choose another class to take. She is trying to choose between Ice Skating, Gymnastics, Tap or Ballet. I would love to see her in Ice Skating! But then, I think she'd do great at gymnastics or tap too. So far, ballet is my least favorite. We will be researching classes and she will have to make a choice this summer.

Veba's School of Dance was great while it lasted. It is a small, informal dance class. The teachers go to daycares and preschools and have class there. Because there is no "studio", the cost is very affordable! No matter what she does next, it will easily cost at least twice what we've been paying for Veba's. But Veba's only teaches 3-5 year olds. Classes are during the day (usually around lunchtime) so once a child is in First Grade, they can't make classes. That's okay. At this point, I think Acadia is ready for more formal classes - in whichever area she chooses.

stressed is "desserts" spelled backwards

Not having a good day.

First I come across the movie that Ryan told me he returned yesterday. Then I realize that he returned a movie we were borrowing from friends to the rental store instead of the movie we rented. Eeeks. Okay, so I call the rental store, they say it happens all the time, they have the movie, I can just go over and make a swap.

Great, no big deal. It's a nice day, it will be good to be out of the house. I wanted to go to the credit union anyways.... Cadi and I get in the car.

Pull out of the drive way... over a speed bump... "KERPLUNK, rattle rattle rattle..." *Car gets all wobbly* Uh, this isn't good.

My first thought is, the wheel came off. Nope, all four wheels are accounted for. I don't see anything visibly wrong - immediately. But clearly the car is "broken" and I am not going anywhere this afternoon.

I'm not a car person. I have no clue what is wrong. But the most clueless person would know that something is. And I'm just guessing that it's gonna cost mucho $$$.

And all I've got here at the house is vanilla ice cream. Not even anything "good" like Strawberry Cheesecake or Cookies and Cream.

***The irony: The movie I was trying to return was "Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events"!
