:tunes:
So we just booked our flights out to Massachusetts. We leave in two weeks and we'll get back on the 16th. We had to change the dates because of availability. It is a long story and was a bit of a nightmare to deal with. But, it's all done now and we're going to have a nice visit.
Ryan's working on the bathroom. Maybe we'll get some more pictures to share. At least we're making progress!

Hola
Last night we had our ward activity. It was a fiesta! I wasn't really in the mood to go...I wanted to make Chinese food, not have Mexican food. But we ended up having a fun time! Well, Debi was cold, but other than that it was fun. Acadia was able to participate in the pinata and the food was good. They taught us "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" in Espanol. Did you know that in Spanish it is actually "Head, Shoulders, Legs, and Feet"? The Spanish words for "knees" and "toes" are too long to fit that part of the song. Interesting.
The best part of the night had nothing to do with the activity though. Hey Mom, this is a good fundraising idea for your Scouts... The Young Women had a table set up where they held a silent auction. The young women each had listed acts of service they were willing to provide and at a starting bid. Then it was up to the ward to start bidding. There were all sorts of things for bid: dog walking, yard work, babysitting, dinners, FHE treats, house cleaning, homemade cards, piano lessons, dance lessons, soccer camp, and best of all...the Bishop was offering a boat ride to Government Island and Hot Dogs for lunch. Well I put a bid on the boat ride and soon we had a bidding war. It was going quite nicely until another family jumped in and sent the price way higher than Ryan and I had discussed. (He was at worked and I called, but then was unreachable while on his way home.) So the family I was originally bidding against agreed that we could go in on it together and so we kept bidding against this other family. And we won, splitting the cost between us... no, that's not cheating. ;) So sometime soon we will be going with the Williams and the Bishop on a boat trip to Government Island and having hotdogs. Sister William told the Bishop they had better be Oscar Meyer! The Bishop said "I just hope the boat starts!"
The fact that we participated in this bidding war is slightly crazy because I have never stepped foot on a boat without getting sick!!! But this is a much smaller boat, shorter ride, and I have the patches that helped a lot the last time. We like the Williams alot. She is my Enrichment Leader and is just a really nice and totally fun lady! Jack is fun too and sometimes a little crazy! Anyhow, I'm sure it will be a blast!

Long Beach, WA
Yesterday we went to the beach. While there wasn't any sun, we did have fun! Here are some photos:
We started by flying Cadi's kite. One of the highlights of the whole day was when Acadia was flying the kite. She was holding it with one hand and it was really windy. Yep, the handle flew right out of her hand and started "flying away". Well, Ryan was right there next to her and he takes off up the beach and into the dunes chasing it. A couple of times he dove for it, missed, and fell down. He eventually caught it and brought it back. We sure got a good laugh out of it all! From then on, Cadi held on with both hands!
After flying the kite, Ryan and Cadi decided to go play in the waves.
Debi and I found sticks to write in the sand with. This is what I wrote.
Don't mess with a girl and her stick!
Baseball on the Beach!
"Cadi's Castle"
One of the last things we did was play Twister:
We sure got all "twisted" up!
We had a fun time, even though some of us got a little car sick traveling to and from. We're glad we went! :thumb:

Fun in the Sun
Today is International Museum Day and Visit Your Relatives Day. I don't think we are going to do either. But we are going to the beach! :thumb:
Ryan was going to be covering someone's shift today, but found out yesterday that he won't need to. That means he has the day off and we decided to go to LongBeach. Acadia is FINALLY feeling better and all we need to do is take her to swimming lessons first.
I'll post pictures when we get back.

WHAT?!?
Today is Super Scout Sunday...WHAT?!? It's a Saturday, how can it be Super Scout SUNDAY? Somebody explain this to me.
I think Acadia is doing better. She is still in bed, but feels much cooler than she has in the past couple of days. I had decided if she still had a fever to take her in to the doctor's today. I'm glad that it looks like I won't have to. But, she says she still feels sick. I don't know if she's just "milking it" or what. I doubt she'll make her friend's birthday party though. That's alright.
I sold some more things on e-bay! I just had some odd craft stuff that I wasn't using and I had been hoping for $20-$30 total. I ended up getting $58.80 when all was said and done! After e-bay fees, that's still $50 to put towards spending money in Orlando! I've got some stamps that I think I'll put up for auction today. :thumb:
Well, not much else is happening right now. Happy Super Scout Sunday...Saturday...I guess?

Just when things are starting to return to normal...
Acadia is SICK!!! This is not very fun. She is miserable and has so far missed out on two playdates, one swim lesson, and a dental appointment. Believe it or not, the thing she keeps asking about is the dental appointment! She wanted to make sure I rescheduled it!!! I'm so glad that she enjoys it, but I think it's a little funny!
It is such a beautiful day too! Bummer. We are hopeful she will be better tomorrow and especially by Saturday because she is supposed to go to a birthday party. Well, I must go finish Chicken Noodle Soup. :lick:
