It's okay to be different.
Acadia has to read for homework everyday. Today when I told her to get a book to read, she gathered four of her stuffed animals to read to. She chose these four because they each had been made fun of and were feeling down. She wanted to find a story about someone who was "different" so they wouldn't feel so bad. lol
Here is her group of "troubled" friends...
There is the purple bunny who gets teased for ... being purple. The purple crocodile gets teased not because he is purple but because he's got a small body with HUGE eyes. The horse is a little "tipsy" and tumbles over a lot. And the dog has a leaf tatoo and is always eating a leaf.
(This is all according to Cadi.)
I thought it was too cute and funny and just HAD to share! lol

Meet the newest member of our family...
As I previously blogged, Ryan's car died recently. So I now introduce you to his newest "baby"...
It's a 97 Honda Civi HX and has been kept in really good condition. It averages 35 mpg, is a 5 speed, has an alarm and a 6 cd changer. And as you can see, it's way better looking than his last car! lol The best part? We stayed in our budget. :) And I get my car back now!!! :D

Makes this muggle wonder...
Just like a scene from Harry Potter, we've been surrounded by owls! Okay, not quite as much as in Harry Potter... But in the last month or so, we've seen more owls than we've seen in the last 4 years of living here. And where we have never heard them at our house before, we now hear them often out back.
So I've got to wonder... just what IS going on in the wizarding world right now?

Smile Baby!
Two weeks ago, Rori had her 6 month portraits taken. We picked them up today and here you go! ...
We had this little stool/chair for her to sit on and she IS sitting in the pic... but the silly girl kept trying to stand - SHE CAN'T STAND YET! But she would stand up... then I would have to catch her because she would immediately fall. lol
So we figured, "Why not?"... and took this pic instead!
Of course this pose was super cute "doctored up" a bit too...
Then we sat her on the floor and gave her a basket of flowers... all she wanted to do was take the flowers out and eat them. I think the pose is "okay" but the effects they did to this pic make it really cute... I love the punch of pink/red!
Next we thought we'd put the flowers in a wagon so they were a little further out of reach, but still in the pic. That worked well because then she only tried to eat the wagon handle. lol ... But I didn't get a pic of that... I got this one instead. :)
Again... playing with the effects...
They wanted to just get her sitting with nothing else... she didn't have many smiles for that. :S But she did keep biting her lip and since she does that a lot, I told them to take the pic because that is totally my girl!
Then we took some other pics and the studio put them into a collage just for Valentine's Day. I was thinking about getting a black frame and giving it to Ryan, but I couldn't wait and showed it too him as soon as I picked it up! lol

Dance Baby!
Acadia's school has some really neat after-school programs. Usually Cadi is interested in a couple of them each year. She just finished taking a month of dance classes after school for free and today was their little recital. They learned a couple of line dances and some square dancing. I took a lot of pics, but my photo editing software was being a pain so I couldn't edit any of them. These were still decent pics so I'm gonna post them and maybe I'll get the others up eventually too...

100 things about me
A friend of mine just did this recently and since it's been almost 2 years since I did this the last time, I thought I'd do it again. I'm always up for a challenge, right? Besides, last night I couldn't sleep well so I thought of a good chunk of them while lying in bed. lol
1.I don't sleep well when Ryan's not home.
2.Ryan and I almost always go to bed at the same time - unless one of us is not home and will be out really late.
3.One of my best friends is old enough to be my mom. (But she's so cool, I never really think about it. J)
4.One of my best friends I have never met.
5.One of my best friends lives in another country.
6.One of my best friends was childless one year ago but now has more children than I do!
7.I haven't worn earrings in over a week - maybe two!
8.I need a manicure and pedicure... badly!!
9.I also need to get my hair cut and new highlights!
10. I make a mean Spaghetti Diablo. YUM!
11. There is currently a sleeping bag on my bed, over the comforter.
12. I can't sleep with socks on.
13. I drive a mini van.
14. I read scriptures every night.
15. I say my prayers every night.
16. I'm about 50/50 on my morning prayers though... I am working on that!
17. I own a gym membership but have been working out at home everyday because it's so hard to coordinate getting to the gym with Rori's nap times.
18. I lost 3 pounds last week! :)
19. I pluck my eyebrows.
20. I like to have color on my toe nails but clear on my fingernails.
21. I cannot seem to keep my computer desk clean!!
22. I put chapstick on before I go to bed every night.
23. I love logic puzzles.
24. One of my favorite movie quotes is, "Go now, and die in what way seems best to you." Lol
25. I hate to cheat and won't ever let Ryan cheat for me either.
26. I am stubborn! Lol
27. I have a love/hate relationship with hikes.
28. I didn't go to the beach at all last summer. :(
29. My goal is to run a 10K this Thanksgiving.
30. I really want new bedroom dressers!
31. I have started reading The Silmarillion.
32. I wear a retainer to bed every night.
33. I usually wear size 7 shoe.
34. I am one foot shorter than my husband.
35. I own a CareBear (Love A lot).
36. I also own a naked mole rat doll.
37. I can't dance.
38. I like to take pictures. I especially love to take pics of clouds.
39. I love my mom's meatballs... and we had them for dinner tonight! :)
40. I have become addicted to my husband's Star Wars game on his xbox.
41. I stretch with Cadi everyday.
42. I didn't have breakfast this morning... I was just busy and didn't get to it.
43. I have a double chin, even when I'm skinny.
44. I want to do something nice for Valentine's day, but I don't know what.
45. I don't have any pics of my kids in my wallet.

47. I can juggle... for like 10 seconds. Lol
48. I am a mean mom because I wouldn't let Cadi wear the same thing she wore to church last week.

64. I earned my YW Medallion last December as a YW leader.

66. I loved going to Girl's Camp as a young woman! (But then, we got to sleep in cabins, not tents and we didn't have to cook our own meals either. lol)
67. I'm not allergic to anything... that I know of.
68. I love ice cream. ... More than I should!
69. I can't stand seafood. At all.
70. I'm trying to like more vegetables. I am trying to "disguise" them so I'll eat them without really tasting them. lol

72. My first date with my husband was miniature golfing.
73. I've only been "real" golfing once or twice... I'm not good.
74. I've lived in four states.
75. The first time I flew on a plane was after I had met Ryan... I was flying back East to meet his family.

87. I used to want to skydive but now that I'm a mom, I don't think I would.
88. I swam with dolphins, sharks, and rays while on vacation on my 29th birthday.
89. I went killer whale watching off the coast of British Columbia while on vacation for my 30th birthday.
90. I was on bedrest for my 31st birthday.
91. I currently have no plans for my 32nd birthday... any ideas? ;)
92. I like cats but my husband and daughter are allergic to them. :(
93. I have never painted daisies on a big, red, rubber ball.
94. But I have been to Boston in the fall.

96. A killer whale kissed me when I was 12 years old.
97. My first kiss with a boy was at 14 (don't tell my daughter!!!).
98. I'm going to Utah in April for a "Girl's Weekend Out"! (Ryan's taking vacation time to stay home with the girls for me!)
